Candelo Public School staff, students and families work in close cooperation to provide a comprehensive curriculum that fosters a love of learning, respect for self and others, and an acquisition of knowledge that will enable students to take their rightful place in the their own community, as well as recognising their place within the wider global community.
There is a consistent focus on student wellbeing, core values and high standards of behaviour to ensure Candelo PS is a safe, happy and inclusive school where everyone has a sense of belonging.
The major features of our curriculum and school culture include high academic expectations in literacy, numeracy, and creativity. Other significant programs include performing and creative arts programs, and a strong focus on technology and the environment. We encourage a range of social and cultural experiences so that factors of rural isolation are addressed.
The school plans programs in cooperation with other small schools and with the support of Fair Education, to develop an outward-looking focus and to engage the community in student learning.
We are committed to encourage active parent and community involvement in all school programs so that Candelo students, teachers and community members continue to 'Show the Way'.
